That Borche burger had me falling more and more in love with each bite. Every component of it blended just perfectly together. I got mine with bacon and a fried egg on top per the dude that took my order's suggestion, I'm glad I listened. The staff all seem like a bunch of cool kids, like fun to be around. There's only one television inside the bar area but it's viewable to more of the tables than not. I like that i can still get my favorite dogs from Dat Dog with the same toppings, but the adding of burgers to the line up was a power move on their part. I think it's safe to say Dis and Dat has snagged my attention for when I'm in the mood for a burger in Mid City. Not to say I can't get a quality one elsewhere in the neighborhood, but there's just a little something extra about what's happening here with these.

Another funky, fun location to add to the quickly expanding Dat Dog empire. We came in at brunch time today just starving for a good burger. We sure did get them!! All of their burgers come "glazed" in their specials sauce, which is kind of a sweet yet mustardy barbecue sauce. This works really well with the otherwise standard ground beef patty. The buns are reminiscent of the sweet and amazing hotdog buns of Dat Dog lore but with an onion twist. The burger was delicious, though a little bit sweet for my tastebuds. I wish they gave you 2 pickles to really help cut that. Had great conversation with the chef who cooks right there behind the bar. Fast, friendly service (probably 5-6 minutes from payment to food delivery) and for the price we left OVERLY stuffed! We will be back!!!

Since the name and slight menu changes, Dis and Dem is still rockin it. What hasn't changed is quality burgers, great service, and a killer atmosphere. A+++ keep it up folks!

Breakfast = 5 stars We had breakfast here the other day and loved it! The hash dishes were delicious! Colin, their breakfast guy, is extremely nice, very helpful, and knows how to do breakfast right! Colin was also offering jam filled corn muffins the morning we went - innovative and tasty! Coffee was solid as well! We have also been here for burgers = 4 stars. This is only because there are so many stellar burger joints in NOLA - this burger isn't on that level. In any other city the D&D burger would be a 5 star. If you don't like BBQ, make sure to let them know because it comes on all of their burgers.

We dropped in after a nearby festival. notWe each had sliders, although these aren't what you typically think of when you think of sliders. More like a hot dog roll--only so-o-o much better. Came topped with a salad like mix along with strips of bacon. Delicious. Basket had a side of krispy fries and sweet pickles. All tasty. We also arrived during Happy Hour so our beers were half price. Limited (2) beers on tap but one was Cranebrook which is a fav of my wife. I had an Abita from their large selection of bottled brews. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Give it a try.

I was happily surprised to find this place just two blocks from my house! They serve coffee drinks and breakfast, and there is free wifi: as a self-employed musician, it is perfect for my morning laptop work. I roll in between 7-9am, usually in my pajamas, and they just pour me a cup coffee upon my entrance. Talk about service. The breakfast is awesome. I get fresh fruit (freshly cut fresh fruit), good coffee (I usually drink it black, so quality is important to me), eggs and potatoes for like five bucks. Bless their a la carte menu: you can get a big filling pancake for a dollar! And the $2 hash browns come with onions and bell peppers: when I realized this, I felt like I'd won something. And oh gosh the food is *so good*. So good. It's typical to get over-greased crap when I order out, but here I know I'm getting something that won't kill me later in life. They make reasonable alterations to my orders: I want my eggs scrambled, not over-easy: done. I want no cheese and my eggs on the side: done. In a city full of snarky servers who believe they are entitled to money for as little effort as possible, and who roll their eyes if they have to lift a finger, this place is a pleasurable relief. Other businesses could learn from this staff. Speaking of the staff, I've never felt so welcome in a place of business. Even the owner jokes with me. And the music selection is usually so good that it will make me find more work to do so that I can stay longer. The colorful chalkboard menus and relaxed atmosphere make even the mornings when I awake on the wrong side of the bed pleasurable. I can walk in in a crappy mood, and walk out feeling ready to tackle my day. The highlight of my experience thus far for me was one morning when I ordered breakfast to go: I needed a bag with handles so I could hang it from my bike handlebars as I traveled. Since they did not have a bag with handles, of the staff members folded the top of the paper bag securely, and pierced two holes through the folds. He then took zip-ties and created hearty, secure handles to put through the holes, and made me a custom carry-away bag. I was floored. This is a business which takes pride in its service as well as its food, and cares about its customers. I love coming here in the morning for breakfast. (Oh, they've got bloodys, mimosas and irish coffees for you morning drinkers as well!)

Food was great, service and selection was a little strange. From what I understood, Dis and Dem is home to a popup breakfast place on the weekends. Which is fine, but not everything that is on their menu is available at those times (and they still have them on the menus). For example, the drinks they display on the wall are not all available during breakfast, which is not immediately obvious until you're craving one of them and are told they can't serve them. Our server also didn't know where everything was which was strange. Service overall was very slow. It took a good 15 minutes for the bartender/server to take our initial drink order. The rest of the meal followed suit in pace. The cook also had an argument with the chef which everyone at the restaurant could hear and see. I don't have any complaints about the food, though. It was very, very delicious. I can only assume that the rest of the menu is the same. I tried the Dis Breakfast Po-boy and heard similar complements about the rest of the po-boys on the menu!

Mediocre food, poor service, and terrible management. We decided to check it out because we had a Groupon for 2 burgers, 2 draft beers, and an order of fries to split. When we sat down they gave us both the brunch menu and the burger menu, and I told the server immediately that I had a Groupon and what it was for. He said the only beer they had was Abita Golden, Corona, and Stella; we ordered an Abita and a Stella. He then comes back and says he doesn't have Stella, just one Corona and the Abita was the last of that. They literally only had 2 bottles of beer in the entire restaurant!!! I don't even know how that happens! Later on, they apparently found more beer, but still only those 3 types. He offered me a cocktail instead and I ordered a bloody mary. He told us that our Groupon entitled us to any burger on the menu and we assumed that he had confirmed that with his manager since we had asked about that when we sat down. We ordered the 2 specialty burgers that were written on the blackboard, at which point he said we couldn't get those with the Groupon, but we agreed to pay the $1 difference for them. He then came back and said that they don't have the stuff for the specialty burgers because it is Sunday brunch day, but they could do the regular burgers. The specialty burgers were both stuffed burgers, so we understood that and opted for something else. We also noted that we wanted cheese fries multiple times in the course of our ordering. Every time he took an adjusted burger order, he would ask if that was all we wanted, so we felt the need to keep reminding him about the fries. By the time we finally got the order straight, we'd been there for 30 minutes. I looked at my watch after ordering and it was just after 2pm, we'd arrived around 1:30. It took another 25-30 minutes for our burgers to arrive, but not the fries. When we asked about them, he said they're working on them. The fries arrived at 2:50pm, after we had both finished our entire burgers. The cheese was hard and crusted on top of the fries, it seemed as though they had spent a long time sitting in the oven or under a heat lamp. As for the burgers, they tasted pretty good. Mine had a hot sausage patty on it and a chipotle mayo, which was good, and it was served on an onion bun. My SO had a burger with a fried egg on top. The burgers were obviously frozen patties, which is really disappointing when they're charging $10-$12 for just the burgers (sides are extra). For that price, I'd expect a better quality of meat that can be cooked to order. Atomic Burger in Metairie serves better meat at almost half the price. There are way too many great burger places in New Orleans, and the surrounding area, to pay that much for a frozen patty that's "glazed" with what tastes like Kraft hickory bbq sauce. Perhaps the city has spoiled me, but I expect a bit more from a restaurant that specializes in burgers. When it came time to redeem the Groupon, he tried to charge us for the bloody mary. We refused since I only ordered it because they didn't have any beer. They complied, but no one ever apologized for the lack of options or the confusion from no one knowing what they did and didn't have available. A couple of the people there were personable, but it felt like they were almost laughing off the issues. One guy made a comment about being busy and forgetful, but we were one of 4 tables in the whole restaurant. Overall, I'm glad that we went there with a Groupon because I would have been furious if I'd had to pay full price for that experience.

We visited for lunch and enjoyed a couple burgers and cheese fries. We both added the hot sausage patty which I highly suggest since the meat is a frozen patty and needs that extra boost. The toppings are fresh which helps too. The cheese fries were amazing especially with their specialty dipping sauces and one order is perfect for 2 people. The drink options could be improved. The beer and wine seem to cater to the hipster crowd which is fine since I'm sure thats the majority of their clientele. The iced tea was not good and other options were whatever. We were informed they have disenfranchised themselves with Dat Dog(hence the name and decor) They no longer serve hot dogs but still use the sourdough buns as their slider bread. The menu is quite simple, no frills. There is a pop up breakfast shop there on the Sat and Sun mornings and that menu sounded phenomenal! We plan on taking the kids soon.

Went in for the breakfast this morning. Had the mini-chimmies with eggs & grits. So.friggin.good. The grits were creamy, not sweet, not over processed, the perfect temp & not runny at all. The eggs on top mixed with the grits (not typically my favorite combo) added some nice saltiness, didn't need any hot sauce or Tonys. The mini-chimmies were piping hot and a special of the day, couldn't finish all four and accidentally left my to-go box :-( The owner/server/hollandaise maker was friendly and brought us a side of the hollandaise for dipping....YUM! This place is a great addition to the neighborhood & a yummy affordable spot.

Since moving to NOLA Ive been on the hunt for a delicious burger. I had my spot in JC where I could be found 6 out of 7 days eating a delicious burger (shout out White Star Bar). After what seemed like several hours of detective work I decided to head over to the newly opened Dis and Dat. Having already experienced their sister concept, Dat Dog, I was easily persuaded to explore this new concept. The location is somewhat off the beaten path. Located in a house, on a corner lot, in a residential neighborhood. Ambiance: What you would expect from a Dat location. Eclectic and vibrant. Although I will say they have ZERO ventilation there. I smelled like a campfire after I got home. Food: Sadly, not very impressed at all. I do like onion rolls but not necessarily on my burger. It felt like they were trying to fit a square peg into a circle hole. It just didnt fit (that's what she said). I just want a quality, simple and damn delicious burger. No need to try and wow me with your interpretation of a burger... I just get lost in confusion. Also, I don't like the way they cut their tomatoes. WHY DO YOU DO THAT? It sucks. Stop it. Last Food Gripe: I was very offended by the lack of melted cheese on the burger. A handful of shredded cheddar on top of my patty is just plain laziness and it really pisses me off. Im American & I like melted cheese, damnit. Service: Very attentive and friendly. Note: they all wear Hawaiian shirts. Not sure if that's good or bad. All in All: Would I return? Not likely. The burger just wasnt what I had hoped it would be. I would be more likely to visit Dat Dog.

I am absolutely embarrassed to say that I hosted a UYE here. Yes, I invited friends--mostly other Yelp Elites--to join me at a restaurant that can't figure itself out. I should have listened to the wisdom of Charles H and Christopher W, but I just couldn't resist. It seemed like such a solid idea: half-price wine and beer with sliders and fries for happy hour. What played out was so different. Between my visit to the restaurant to check out their happy hour specials and the actual event (about a week elapsed), the menu was gutted. No more hot dogs. And not only was the menu gutted, but the remaining offerings were written in chicken scratch on badly mimeographed papers that were being passed around UPON REQUEST. One should never have to request a freaking menu. Anyway, gutted menu. Then the bar is out of most of their beer. Rather than a simple apology and solutions, the owner who was behind the bar felt like unloading the whole damn sob story about warehouse being out of beer and screwing him on his distro blah blah blah. I am a customer trying to order food. I really do not need your business woes right now, pal. When the beers finally happened, they were fine. Food was ordered, but it was not tracked very well in their POS (point of sale) software. Like when I went to pay my tab and cash out, the tab for the entire group was under my name...even the food that other people paid for. That means food was entered twice or something. I don't even know. We did get it sorted out, and the poor dude who had to sort it out ended up sliding two things off my bill as a nod to the fact that I'd brought in 6 of my friends on a Wednesday. (And also because we didn't get several orders of fries that we ordered. I was not about to pay for food I didn't receive.) One of our party ordered sliders...which, uh. They were burger patties sliced in half and stuffed in a hot dog bun. That isn't sliders. It's something else, but it's not sliders. Sliders are mini-burgers. Half patties in hot dog buns is...well, it's something that frat boys would improvise. Why the hell is it on your menu? Then there were the burgers. Company Burger has spoiled me on the classy gourmet burger experience in NOLA. Haters to the left, please. Even without the lettuce and tomato, the guys at Company Burger know how to make a fabulous patty and pair it with a good bun and house-made mayo. But the folks at Dis & Dem are slopping pre-made BBQ sauce on their burgers and calling it "glaze." Y'all, this is frat house cooking. This is not a $10 burger. I have had better burgers from the Trolley Stop, and I'm pretty sure that all of the kitchen staff is drunk most of the time at Trolley Stop. When you are out-cooked by shitty greasy spoon, there is a problem. The buns suck and are a poor match for whatever they are calling these burgers now. Toast! Your! Buns! Match the size of the patty to the size of the bun! Basic things! Do them! Having checked the website prior to writing this review, I noticed that the menu has changed again. Maybe the new menu will make sense for this place. Maybe they are finally figuring out how to get out of the frat house kitchen. But I'm not rushing back, nor am I taking friends with me. There was one other problem. The owners of this joint are a little...zealous. One of the owners or managers was posting on the Talk threads around Mardi Gras, pushing folks to visit without revealing her relationship to the restaurant. That's bad juju. She was called out on her behavior several times, and it finally stopped. But still. Someone didn't read the TOS when they signed up for Yelp. And then there was the glut of management when I had my UYE. There were more owners/managers/bosses than employees or customers the night of my event. When management (and their wives) are there "just to hang out" and breathe down the neck of the staff, I get nervous. I get very nervous for those poor staffers, especially. The bartender looked like he wanted to crawl into the cooler to escape from the loitering bosses and wives. I don't blame him! I wanted to hide in the bathroom! My lingering question, of course is this: if the managers were so interested in attracting Yelpers to their business, how come they didn't notice my event? It was posted in the Talk threads and linked as an event. It could have been a chance to shine for the crowd they're trying to draw in. Instead, they managed to turn us off. This was just embarrassing. Accessibility notes: no Braille menu or signage. Ramp enters on the side of the building. High bar. Single-stall restrooms.

A LivingSocial coupon brought us out to this little joint at the end of Banks street. In a slightly weird location, but the building is cozy and the beer was flowing, so we were happy. Our server was really helpful and friendly without being overbearing, the food came quickly, and we were over the moon! Seriously. Bacon cheddar ranch fries and the Hawaii 5-0 Burger (grilled pinapple, bacon, some other insanely delicious stuff I don't remember) were AWESOME and came in big enough portions to get a second meal out of them. Really casual, relaxed atmosphere, good portions for the price, small but quality beer selection, plus they have Mexican Coke if you're a hipster. Great little place. I recommend!

3.5 stars but rounding to 4 since they are new and get the benefit of the doubt. Will update when I return! Atmosphere was cool, I love all the dry erase boards with art and Christmas lights! A big TV had sporting events playing. The food was good. I ordered the chili cheese burger. The burger was ginormous! It is served with a pickle spear. I'm training for a half marathon, and I surprised even myself when I finished almost all of it! I do wish they melted the cheese on the burger instead of sprinkling, presumably post-plating. I was happy to see they served the same fries as dat dog. Those fries are some of the most delicious I have EVER tasted! Amazing!! We sat at the bar and received excellent and friendly service. My biggest complaint stems from the seemingly lack of proper ventilation in the kitchen area. It was super duper smoky, and even hours after leaving, my clothes wreaked of burger grease. I don't mind a little "eau de buger", but this was extreme. They then opened all of the doors and had a big fan going, but it was a really chilly night, and left all of the patrons shivering. Please install a better ventilation system!!

This place is authentically New Orleans! I love the atmosphere- unrushed and friendly. The staff is incredibly nice. When we arrived we were greeted by the breakfast cook and told the chef had gone Around the corner to pick up more eggs. Our coffee order was taken right Away. the other guests here lived nearby. We sat outside on their quirky and relaxing back patio listening to WWOZ. Food was yummy and fast. I will be back!

This is the greatest burger in New Orleans - better than Port of Call better than Company Burger. I had the Stacy Head slider - slider halved and put on a sourdough hot dog bun with gooey cheese. The bacon cheddar ranch fries are awesome - real bacon, not bacos. Boyfriend had a Juicy Kiss, aka a Juicy Lucy, and said it was the greatest thing ever. Staff is also super friendly. Will definitely be back!

Mediocre food at best. Awful and slow service. Tried to ask a question about the menu an it took 10 minutes to answer even though it was a simple question. Should have just walked out right there before ordering. The drinks had to be asked for even though they were sitting right in front of the waiter for 10 minutes. Took 35 minutes to get two entrees and when they came out one was overcooked and the fries were cold. Don't waste your time.

This experience reminded me of my first time in the first Dat Dog. Then, I was excited to try out the tasty dog I'd heard about from a few fellow Yelpers, and this time I was excited to try out their extension into the burger market, with this new Dis & Dat hot dog + burgers venture. As I like to shout aloud when passing by family picnics, "Bring on the thick meat! I wanna get stuffed!" Result: Another satisfied customer and one proud to be their FTR. Finding this place, it feels like it's in the middle of a neighborhood, and then you realize this location is literally a stone's throw away from the new hospital area under construction. Holy ground moo meat, this place is going to CLEAN UP when that hospital opens. This is going to be a major lunch spot, without a doubt. Fans of Dat Dog will find the same deliciousness here, but the burgers are something new and not to be missed. They are like gourmet Wendy's burgers, square enough for Dave Thomas, but far thicker and more delicious. The bun is where this burger really earns its full uniqueness. If you're a fan of the Dat Dog bun, you will find the same taste and texture here, in square burger bun form. It's like a light chewy sourdough. I ordered the chili cheese burger and my bun was covered in onions too, which is awesome. I'm not sure if all the burgers have onion buns, but the chili cheese burger does. The staff here was also super welcoming and all very nice. Best of all was how the manager came over and introduced himself. He even gave us a little tour of the place and the nice area hidden in back with plenty more room to feed plenty more people. This place is going to do well, and as one who calls Mid-City home, I welcome our new neighbor, and their tasty tasty dogs and cows. And their beers and drinks too. Oh, and as of right now, they are cash only, but will accept our cards soon.

One of the best burgers in town! I automatically went to 5 stars then questioned should I for a burger joint?! Heck yeah! Because they delivered on everything I was looking for - the meal deserved 5 stars. The meat was fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. They got an extra bump for having a delicious toasted onion roll. I got it dressed and that included mayo, Roma tomatoes, fresh, crisp red onions, pickles and a light, savory BBQ sauce. The atmosphere is pure Mid City - funky, friendly and fun! The service was great. As I was dining alone, I sat at the bar so had the opportunity to chat up the staff - friendly guys who made sure I had everything I needed. The cherry on top for this place was having a wine-by-the-glass option. Unlike the rest of the world who apparently only drinks beer with burgers, I like a red wine. Again, they delivered. While the options were limited in that dpt, what I had was great with the burger. Obviously, I'll be back and hopefully on a regular basis. Great job guys!!

What a find! My husband and I come to New Orleans frequently, and on our recent trip there last week several friends (with children in tow) insisted that we meet at Dis & Dem for dinner. Our party of 7 adult and two kids were seated in the spacious back patio area, and although it was a warm evening the outdoor fans kept everything comfortable. Now for the food: it was outstanding! I order the veggie burger and my husband the Dis & Dem burger. My burger was so juicy and meaty that I was convinced that they had made a mistake and given my a real burger. My husband raved about his. The service was friendly and attentive. The kids were able to run around while the adults drank and talked. We will definitely be back.

I went when this place first opened. I gave it a 1 star then but decided to come back after seeing that they revamped the menu. I suppose they did that because despite having 4 stars on yelp people just weren't flocking to this place? They still serving up frozen hamburgers and charging $9.50 for them. The sauce probably goes a long way to covering that up, but I want my hamburger to showcase the meat, not the sauce. Personally I find the sauce too cloyingly sweet. I went on a Wednesday and had the chicken fried steak sandwich. I thought this was actually good. I am still giving them a one star because their menu is centered around frozen food, and at $9.50 I just think that's insulting.

Pretty good place to grab a quick inexpensive bite. It's mainly sort of bar food-burgers and fries. The fish sandwich was delish and made up fancy. There's an awesome covered and cooled patio in the back...hello hh beer out back! Fast and friendly service too was a plus too.

$10 BURGER WITHOUT ANY SIDES? When I added an order of frites and a soft drink my bill totaled over $15. And while the meat was tasty the bun was doughy, dry and untoasted. 10 MINUTE DELAY BETWEEN SERVICE My friend and I ordered at the same time but he didn't get his food until at least that long after me. By then my already tepid fries and burger were cold. 10 BLOCKS AWAY DMAC'S HAS A SUPERIOR PLATTER For just $9 (33% cheaper) you get their big 8 ounce angus cheeseburger on toasted brioche with a generous portion of arguably the best home fries in New Orleans.

I maybe can understand the idea of selling an exotic homemade sausage for $10 a pop and get away with it but the new concept of Dat Dog's Dis and Dat is just plain bad. The burger version of the hot dog hut features pre processed frozen cookie cutter meat that is not cooked to order and yet kept moist by some kraft bbq sauce that they put on top and bottom and call a "glaze". I was shocked and disturbed because not often do reviews on yelp lead me wrong but the reviews here certainly did for my taste and my wallet. Dis and Dat is replacing a Bud's Broiler that used to be located in that area and for the price of one burger I could have had two from Buds with fries and a shake, a better bbq sauce and the same frozen pre processed burger. This here is a trap and never again will I fall for it.

The menu here is very basic, bu if you're going to serve a limited number of items, you have to get it right, and Dis & Dem certainly knows how to serve up a great burger. The buns they are served on are the same as what you find at Dat Dog. They are soft and pillowy and go great with their perfectly cooked burgers. There are no fancy toppings here; adding guacamole or caramelized onions is as out-the-box as it gets. If your burger is spot on, though, wacky toppings aren't really needed. The fries are great too! Not very many beers on taps, but the few that they have are good ones, two being NOLA Blonde and Abita Amber. The building itself looks like it was a shot-gun home in a former life. The decor inside and out is funky and fun. There is an deck outside in the back which makes for great dining outside if the weather permits. The surrounding neighborhood is a little sketchy for my taste, so I don't think I'd venture over there by myself. The location, though, is close to many of Mid-City's most popular bars, so this would be a great place to fill your belly either before or after a boozy evening.

I really liked Dis and Dat. I got the chili cheese burger and it was great! I love the brioche that Dat Dog uses, so when I read that that's what Dis and Dat uses for the buns, I was excited. And after having tried it, I think it works really well on the burgers too. Portions are generous. I wasn't able to finish my burger. I need my sister, so we can split a burger and get something else to share. We sat outside in the back and it was really nice, except for the mosquitoes who were having a party on my legs. I will definitely be back when I am craving a burger!

I love walking into a new place with no expectations and leaving satisfied. This place has only been open a little over two months, but I feel like their popularity will quickly grow. Why? Because everything about it is awesome. I ordered the chili cheese burger and my friend ordered the crawfish sausage dog. The crawfish dog was decent, not mind blowing, but definitely good. She ordered hers plain. My suggestion would be to get some type of toppings. Now let's get to the good stuff, my burger. Ooooooweeeeeeeee!! I didn't think I could finish it but I devoured that thing like no ones business. I don't know what's better, the bread or the burger. Both combined are heaven. Just so much deliciousness!! I will be back...

Server took our orders and immediately asked for payment . Uh... What?! Do we look like runners or something ? When it took us off guard, he sat there and explained to us that it's what all people do so they don't have to wait for a check at the end of a meal. The lecture got so uncomfortable for both my SO and I that we complied and soon regretted it when our burgers took over 40 minutes to get to us, not even close to how we ordered them, and the fries ordered as an appetizer didn't arrive until well after the burgers. At that point, it was apparent why customers "preferred" to pay and tip in advance. The awkwardness of this lunch did not end with the first exchange. Unfortunately, the server/bartender hung out directly in front of where we were seated and loudly monopolized conversation. Instead of going on a lunch date with my long distance SO, it felt like I was on a date with the loud over zealous server and his corny jokes. By the time the food came, I couldn't wait to be out of there and shake off the uncomfortableness. I ate half and since we had already paid were able to leave as quickly as possible. Perhaps the server was right after all. The entire experience was a turn off and was so uncomfortable that I doubt I'll ever return. Food: Burger buns were good. The "glaze" seems more like bbq sauce bought on the condiment aisle. Patti size wasn't in proportion to the bun size. Fries were good; however can be had at dat dog without the intrusion and over zealous nature of the server trying to sell his restaurant the entirety of the meal.

Oh boy where do I start. Ok this little dive was just what I needed to start off my jazz fest 2015. Started with a stiff ass cup of joe while chef Collin whipped up our breakfast. Then his creation hit the bar in front of us and I couldn't wait to dive in. We had the dis and dem hash dish and it was rocking. All the flavors and right amount of food to get my stomach ready for the day. Collin was rockin the gig with awesome grub and great conversation. Be sure to put this on your to eat list. Will be back for a burger soon.

BLUF: I'll be back to have some beers and another burger or dog. Shotgun style house turned restaurant. Seating outside in front. Seating outside in the back. Long bar to eat at and some inside tables. Classic Dat Dog atmosphere (loud colorful signs and puns). Order at the bar and they'll bring your food. They are pretty quick and pretty friendly. Sitting out front is nice to experience the neighborhood. (I bet once the VA hospital is up and running Dis and Dat is going to make a ton of money) I was dying of hunger so i ordered the burger that has a sausage on it. It was really really good. They are not homemade patties (at least they dont look like they are, appear frozen when the put it on the grill but i could be wrong). Burgers are really big though. Has some type of sauce on them that is original and good. Not sure what it is but i really liked it to have it stand out from the standard burger. The sausage on top was good too. They didnt put very much cheese on it so that would be the one thing I would say is an area for improvement. "More cheese" should just be every restaurant's mantra. Me and my buddy split an order of fries and couldnt finish them; waayyy too much food. Fries were awesome. Huge fan. My stick in the mud friend said it was too early for a beer so I didnt take the time to see what they had on draft. I would love to go back and eat a little less so I can stay longer and have a few beers.

It's a solid 3 stars bordering 4. I will return. Sunday hours were wrong, they were already open and busy at 10 am. Service a little awkward. Very local place. Eggs sardou were delicious.

I'm not a dat dog person, but we came here for the first time today and I absolutely loved it. We hit it off immediately with the guy behind the bar and had a great time. We ordered the bacon ranch cheese fries. Boyfriend said they could've used more cheese, but I thought they were perfect. We read in the gambit that the fries weren't up to par, but we found that they were delicious, crispy, and well seasoned. So good. I got the broche burger with cheese and bacon and my boyfriend got the dis and dat burger. Both were delicious. I'm surprised we finished it all. Definitely glad we decided to stop in here. I'm definitely going back soon. And bringing a few friends. Chill vibe, good food, great service.

One of the most delicious burgers I have ever had. The Borche Burger with bacon and cheese is out of this world!! And if you are lucky enough to come on a Friday, definitely get the Juicy Kiss special! You won't be disappointed. A charming, neighborhood eatery with a friendly and attentive wait staff. Will definitely be back again and again.

Nice little joint in Mid City, friendly staff. You get the Dat Dog quality with a few extras, namely burgers and breakfast. Burgers are huge and relatively creative, but I've had tastier patties. The breakfast is an independent pop up chef who seems eager to please but could use a little tweaking. And I don't mean doing speed - he's got plenty of chutzpah.

This place's ambience is amazing. It is off the beaten path, so you might not naturally find yourself here. But if you do, you will be happy. Excellent atmosphere, awesome staff, great food. You will be extremely happy that you did. Only an 8 minute drive and 30 minute walk if you are staying off of the French quarter near the river.

This place is great. Ambiance is very inviting and makes you feel right at home, like you're in your friends backyard. The location is easy to get to from anywhere in NOLA. I love the food too. The burgers are nice and juicy, the bread is soft and sweet, the glaze on the meat is sweet and just the right amount to add a little zing. I especially like that shredded cheese is used. The fries are wicked awesome, spiced right and very tasty. I haven't tried the sausages yet, but I'll let y'all know how that is soon.

Dis and Dem has quickly become my one and only breakfast spot. Colin and Kevin are great and you can't beat those biscuits and gravy. I recommend the Country Breakfast Po-boy with biscuits subbed for po-boy bread. The Burgers are some of the best in town. This has very quickly become my regular breakfast spot.

Really enjoyed this place. Heard about it and figured I'd try. Had the Borche Burger which is a glazed burger topped with a fried egg, cheddar cheese and onions. Sooo good. Service was excellent and friendly. Its on the dead end of Banks St. on the corner of Gravier by the new hospital construction. I will most def be going back. Oh, their cheddar, bacon, and ranch fried are TO die for!

The hot dogs and fries are great but as this is being marketed as a burger and dog place, i gotta give it 2 stars. The burger was a huge patty but it seemed pre made and possibly frozen. It was "airy" and seemed light for the large size. Also the burger had a bbq sauce glaze on it which didn't make sense , nor did the onion bun. A lot of ppl don't like onions at all and bbq sauce as a "glaze" on the patty. This place SERIOUSLY needs to reevaluate their burgers if it wants to compete in New Orleans.

I tried the Borche burger tonight and the bread was great! It was really similar to the hot dog buns. Also, the egg was perfectly cooked and runny when I bit into the burger! But I was not a fan of their glaze on the burger... too sweet for my taste. If I were to order any of their burgers next time, I would ask for them to not put a glaze on it. Overall, the burger was just okay, nothing amazing and not one of my favorites. Hot dogs and fries are still the same as the other Dat Dog locations, but a smaller beer and alcohol selection. I know they just opened a few weeks ago, but Dis and Dat needs a better or stronger ventilation system. It was a bit smoky and cloudy when I walked in.

The place is cute, the bartender was friendly, the food was terrible. The person cooking was making one burger at a time, resulting in a very long wait even though it was largely empty. They don't let you pick your desired doneness. My burger was more akin to a hockey puck than beef.

This quirky neighborhood burger shop is a must-go. Staff is friendly and offer samples of their tasty, seasoned chili. The cheeseburgers are huge, thick, and tender atop sweet onion buns, heaped with grated cheddar. Mixed greens and fresh, crisp onions and firm tomatoes instead of limp iceberg were a nice surprise. The chili burger is messy and delicious. As a whole, the burgers had a unique taste that I will definitely come back for. The fries are what basic bitch over-seasoned fries wish they tasted like. Moist and tender interior, crisp, perfectly seasoned exterior that allows the potato flavor to shine. Perfectly sized, bigger than shoestring but still thin. The bathrooms are beautiful and clean. I could do yoga on that pristine floor. Want to win some cash after you stuff yourself? Try one of their video slot machines in the back.

We love having another great restaurant in the neighborhood! Friendly staff, delicious food and very nice ambiance - a great addition in Mid City. We had the delicious chili cheese burger and the sea dog - yummo! We also had a chance to sample a bit of the étouffée and it was delicious with a nice spicy kick! Ask for the mango hot sauce - it is a standout. We enjoyed our visit, hope to be back soon.

The staff was friendly and the environment was very New Orleans funky. Such a great experience! I just wish there was more seating :)

No matter what you order, you can't go wrong. Open daily 11:30am-9:00pm. Trivia with Challenge Entertainment- Thursdays at 7:30pm. Can't say enough praises! Congrats Skippy!!!!!! :) I simply love my Dis & Dat!

friendly staff and great food.. not super healthy but very tasty, funky space that oozes nola neighborhood cafe. service is a little slow but still a place id come back to. my suggestion would be to try and improve the chili, cumin it up, make it something special, as opposed to its current state of taste like it came out of a hormel can.

Overall I enjoyed this place very much. I've gone three times now with people who wanted to try it out and everyone was satisfied. The burgers are very tasty due to the sauce they use as a glaze. I highly recommend going with Chef's Choice for your toppings!!!

Food is 5 stars for hot dogs, 4 stars for burgers. Burgers were a little well done for my taste, but having all of the toppings choice was awesome. What knocked down the review was the service. The employes working there were working very hard, but the system for ordering and paying is antiquated. Maybe it was just busy for Halloween lunch? There was no POS system, and 1 credit card machine. Waited 30 minutes for food.

PHENOMENAL burger. I LOVE a good burger and am constantly on the hunt for the best one I can find in a city. For a reasonable price, these burgers and fries are out of this world. From the founder of Dat Dog comes this glorious combination of hamburger and encased meat establishment. The hamburgers are juicy, due to their cooking method and a glaze that seals the meat.. The sausages are uniformly good, made better by the choices of toppings, try the andouille and crawfish etoufee toppings, yum! Beer is cheap, $2 Miller High Lifes. In a funky converted single shotgun house decorated exuberantly, it's a step towards making Banks Street a culinary destination.

A decent cheeseburger following a ridiculously long wait (45 minutes) does not make for a good lunch break. The place is small and cramped (do not come here with more than one other person) with limited parking and today it was freezing cold. Needless to say, not much of an impression made on me. I tried the burger with the sausage on top and like I said, it was decent, but after waiting as long as we did and being late back to work, it's not worth risking it again.

A friend of mine suggested it. I wasn't expecting much... I'm not a fan of Dat Dog. However, I was blown away by my experience! The onion bun was exceptional; it was not your average burger by any means. Also admire the cool atmosphere of the place... very laid back!

I had gotten delivery from here (Nola Food Delivery). I had gotten the Stacy Head Slider with Chipotle Mayo and it was amazing! If you are a fan of Dat Dog, you will love this place. I will definitely order and visit here again!

Pretty good place to grab a quick inexpensive bite. It's mainly sort of bar food-burgers and fries. The fish sandwich was delish and made up fancy. There's an awesome covered and cooled patio in the back...hello hh beer out back! Fast and friendly service too was a plus too.

  • Christy H.

The place is cute, the bartender was friendly, the food was terrible. The person cooking was making one burger at a time, resulting in a very long wait even though it was largely empty. They don't let you pick your desired doneness. My burger was more akin to a hockey puck than beef.

This is one of my favorite places in Nola! Ask for the Guinness dog with jam and the fries are delicious! Dog friendly outdoor space with great local atmosphere and personality.

Friendly staff, great out door seating as well as inside. And the burgers are phenomenal! Don't even need to use ketchup or mustard they are that good!.

Just had an amazing blueberry, bacon guinness sausage on sourdough with the bacon ranch cheese fries. I can not wait to try some more of their unique menu items.

Dis and Dat did more than meet my expectations... They blew them out of the water. I tried their cheeseburger- it is literally the best seasoned burger I've ever had. The meat was so tender and juicy. It didn't even need any toppings- but, the grilled red onion and savory cheddar cheese sufficed as the perfect compliment. The staff was friendly and the environment was very New Orleans funky. Such a great experience! I just wish there was more seating :)

    (2)
  • Hong Y.

Accidentally bought 3 Groupons to this place and I am glad that I did. 3 meals in 3 days (2 lunches and 1 breakfast) and it was awesome. Great staff, great food, great prices, great place. Off the beaten path, but well worth it.

Awesome!!!! Another gem of Skip Murray. The same dogs that made Dat Dog famous plus burgers. Simply delicious. Located in Mid-City at 2540 Banks Street. A little hidden but worth it. No matter what you order, you can't go wrong. Open daily 11:30am-9:00pm. Trivia with Challenge Entertainment- Thursdays at 7:30pm. Can't say enough praises! Congrats Skippy!!!!!! :) I simply love my Dis & Dat!

I was visiting from Florida and needed a place to eat before I had to head to the airport and found this place on groupon and went. It was so delicious and amazing. I would have paid full price for what I got. The food was out of this world, it was the perfect ending point to a great trip. If I go back to Louisiana I'm definitely coming here again. Loved the food and the spot. Me and my boyfriend couldn't stop raving on how good it was. We told people at the airport to go check it out.

friendly staff and great food.. not super healthy but very tasty, funky space that oozes nola neighborhood cafe. service is a little slow but still a place id come back to. my suggestion would be to try and improve the chili, cumin it up, make it something special, as opposed to its current state of taste like it came out of a hormel can.

Overall I enjoyed this place very much. I've gone three times now with people who wanted to try it out and everyone was satisfied. The burgers are very tasty due to the sauce they use as a glaze. I especially liked the sweet doughy bun. My only issues are the lack of burger options, no sides and the price

Such a welcoming & friendly staff! I ordered the Alligator Dog and asked for "chef's choice" on my toppings. Oh my gawd it was amazing! My friends had the veggie/apple dog and the pork dog, both were fantastic. I can't wait to try the burgers! I want to try everything on the menu & will definitely be back for more!! I highly recommend going with Chef's Choice for your toppings!!!

  • Rachel T.

Funny staff and, if you're as lucky as I was, you might catch the owner, Skip and snag a few minutes of lovely conversation. Can't say enough about this place, big fan.

  • PETER C.

DELICIOUS!!! All the money we spent on food was wasted. This was the only place we went that was worth it. Everything was delicious!

It's a solid 3 stars bordering 4. I will return. Sunday hours were wrong, they were already open and busy at 10 am. Service a little awkward. Very local place. Eggs sardou were delicious.
